Hold; Placement Pending

Most of you already know, but we are so happy to announce we've been matched with a boy to adopt! At this point we don't feel comfortable giving out details online, we need to respect his agency and foster parents and his right to privacy. We do want you to know we will be traveling within the next few weeks to meet with his caseworker. 

Today I checked the website I found his picture on. His adoption status went from "Available" to  "Hold, Placement Pending." It is very cool to see that....and know the placement is with US! Thinking ahead, I saved a screen shot of his picture and profile webpage into a word document. One day I hope to put it in his Lifebook (its the equivalent to a baby book for kids in fostercare since they don't typically have a baby book.) 

We still have lots of waiting ahead of us, so don't get ants in your pants but I’m gonna do my best to prepare you for what is gonna happen; You most likely won’t escape the impact of what we are about to do. We are going to become the parents of a middle school-er from a much different place, and culture. At no point will it not be obvious of what we’ve done. Your either going to be an observer.. or your going to roll up your sleeves and jump on the crazy bus with us.
