THUMBS DOWN. We got another no. So we move on.. again. Don't worry.... my impatience and disappointment only lasts for about an hour after we get the news. We have updated our characteristic checklist; which is a form with about 200-250 line questionnaire about whether we would consider a shy child all the way to whether we would consider a child who purposely injures animals. We updated this to allow for more consideration on our part. Alot of things we weren't quite sure what they were at first but now that we've read profiles of children with certain issues, we feel less firm on our initial decisions not to consider certain things.
On another note; we have applied to an adoption agency; recommended by an adoption lawyer we contacted. They accept people who have been licensed through the state of Ohio; so we don't have to go through their classes and homestudy process, as with every other adoption agency that we are aware of. So, for now... we wait some more.
THUMBS UP! Also, the mission trip is quickly approaching. My June calendar has the majority crossed off reflecting the length of time we will be gone. Nice. Looking forward to the drive to and from PA, and to the flight from NJ to Peru. Longest flight to date for me, should be interesting. We do have an itinerary that I will begin posting .. so you have an idea of what we are doing while we are gone.
Today we are attending a continuing education adoption class; in order to keep our license we have to take 20 hours of training a year. Fun Fact; most foster parents don't make it past the first license renewal at 2 years.
